The Houston Civic Symphony will present its next concert on Friday December 1 at 7:30 pm. This concert will take place at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church at 8300 Katy Freeway West. The Houston Civic Symphony is delighted at the invitation to play in this beautiful new venue, which is gaining a reputation for hosting premier community musical events.

The Houston Civic Symphony performed its first concert of the season on Friday, October 13, at the First Methodist Church, Houston – Westchase campus. The performance was given as part of a fund raising event for the West Houston Assistance Ministries (www.whamministries.org).

In our cosmopolitan city the only thing bigger than smoky Texas barbecue, the Space Shuttle, or high school football is music. This October, several West Houston organizations will collaborate to bring the Houston Civic Symphony to music lovers outside the Beltway. First Methodist Houston -Westchase Church will host a Benefit Concert for West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM), featuring the Houston Civic Symphony. This event is scheduled for Friday, October 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary of the church, located at 10570 Westpark Drive. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go to WHAM. This is a Westchase District Cultural Event.

The Houston Civic Symphony will hold auditions for orchestra musicians at Houston Baptist University beginning at noon on Saturday, August 19.  There are openings in bassoon, horn, trumpet, percussion, and all string sections.  In addition, substitute players are needed from time to time.  Therefore, musicians who play any orchestral instrument are invited to audition.
